This differential clay application results in a swifter cooling of the edge during quenching, bestowing it with a remarkable hardness, while maintaining a softer, more flexible back.
One of the most captivating features of this katana is the exquisite real hamon that graces its blade, a testament to the artistry of differential cooling during quenching and tempering. The blade receives a meticulous hazuya polishing treatment, utilizing a specific stone to bring forth the hamon’s true beauty. The result is a blade of unparalleled quality with a pristine, white, and slightly dimmed surface.
Designed in the “SHINOGI-ZUKURI” style, this katana boasts a Chu Kissaki, a medium-length point, adding to its aesthetic appeal. The tang is securely fastened with two bamboo mekugi (pegs), ensuring its stability and longevity.
The Tsuba set, which includes the tsuba, fuchi, kashira, and menuki, is meticulously crafted from a fine-finished golden alloy, adding a touch of elegance to the sword’s overall design.
