The heart of this masterpiece is a blade forged from 1095 high carbon steel, using a traditional Maru lamination technique. To achieve its exceptional quality, our sword’s steel undergoes meticulous refinement and tempering.

A distinctive feature of this Katana is the precise application of clay to the blade by skilled artisans. This technique involves a thin clay layer near the edge and a thicker layer along the rest of the blade. The result is a blade that cools differentially during quenching, yielding a sharp, hardened edge and a more flexible body. The genuine beauty of this sword is revealed in the real hamon pattern created through this quenching and tempering process.

Enhancing its performance, the blade features long Hi on both sides, allowing for a balanced feel and providing audible feedback during use. The blade’s tip boasts a KAMASU-Kissaki design, adding to its overall grace.

The attention to detail extends to the fittings of the sword, including the high-quality brass dragon-themed Tsuba (guard), a one-piece brass Habaki (blade collar), and two Seppas (spacers) for secure placement. The Fuchi (sleeve) and Kashira (buttcap) are also meticulously crafted from brass.

The handle, or Tsuka, is a work of art in itself, with coffee-colored Tsuka-ito (handle wrap) contrasting with the green genuine Ray skin Samegawa beneath. Adding to its appeal, the handle features two dragon-themed copper Menuki (ornaments). The tang is secured with double-pinned bamboo Mekugi (pegs) to ensure durability and stability.

The sword’s Hard wooden SAYA (sheath) is elegantly green high-gloss lacquered with speckles, and it includes a buffalo horn koiguchi (scabbard mouth) and thick brown silk sageo (cord) elegantly tied over a buffalo horn kurikata (knob) with bright copper shitodome (ornament).
