The full tang blade, expertly heat-treated and laminated in Maru style, undergoes the rigorous oil quenching process, ensuring superior strength and durability. Its Chu-kissaki (point) and long Hi (groove) on each side of the blade contribute to both its elegance and performance. The black steel finish not only adds a distinct aesthetic but also serves as a rust-preventing feature, maintaining its luster unless re-polished.
The blade’s surface is meticulously hand-polished using multiple grades of sharpening stones in the Japanese tradition, resulting in a mirror-like finish. The iron Tsuba (guard) with a flower theme design is complemented by a one-piece brass Habaki and secured by two copper Seppas (spacers). The Fuchi (sleeve) and Kashira (buttcap) are also crafted from iron.
